enhance herts was established to raise additional funds to help us, in the NHS, to give that little bit of extra support to patients and their relatives.
The NHS remains as committed as ever to providing excellent patient services and medical equipment, developing staff and undertaking medical research. The focus of enhance herts is on fundraising for additional equipment, better facilities and new research that will benefit our patients and their relatives by making their stay in hospital more comfortable and easing some of the associated anxiety.
Every year, around half a million people use the services provided by the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Welwyn Garden City, and Hertford County Hospital. The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, which became part of the Trust in April 2005, serves Hertfordshire and South Bedfordshire and helps some 5,000 new patients every year.
