Noah & Gabriel

In May 2007 Joanne and David Gray were looking forward to the birth of their twin boys. However at 24 weeks into her pregnancy Joanne was rushed into the Lister and gave birth to the boys prematurely.

Sadly Gabriel only lived for 23 hours and Noah survived just 11 hours.

Joanne explained they would not have got through such a traumatic time without the ‘incredible’ people who supported them. She said “The excellent level of care and support began from the minute it happened. Having never been in a situation like that before, you don't know what to do next, but staff helped us so much with their caring compassion and great skill which most people would take for granted. We will never forget what the staff on the Maternity and Special Care Baby Units did for us.”

Jo & David Gray

Joanne and David have set up the Noah and Gabriel Nightingale fund and are hoping to raise £30,000 for an incubator or ventilator for the Special Care Baby Unit.

Joanne went on to say “Since our boys died, the fund has given us something to think about and has enabled us to focus in a positive way to remember Noah and Gabriel rather than dwell on how bad things have been. There are no words to explain how amazing the Lister staff have been throughout, and the Nightingale Fund is a beautiful way to thank them.”
